GLORIOUS START TO 6TH BIFFE – CM – KAMAL –UMA-DINESH GRACE!

It is not only a glorious start for the 6th Bengaluru International film festival but on the first day itself it was a big win for the organizers.

 

The Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah announced setting up of a `cinema shell` in the coming years after consulting information department and KCA. He also looked at the quality of Kannada films and said it should be supportive to the society. The CM was in gleeful mood and met six of the heroines of yesteryears = Bharathi, Jayamala, Sowcar Janaki, Krishnaveni, Jayanthi, Sumithra and shook hands with Maha Kulla of Kannada cinema Dwarakish before taking his seat with Dr Kamal Hassan and two of his cabinet colleagues.

 

My government is committed to Kannada cinema industry and the presence of Umasri and Ambarisha is an indication stated the chief minister.

 

Dr Kamal Haasan gracing the august occasion said he is attending his fourth international film festival in three months of time. Bangalore is the best place for film platform and I used to come to Bal Bhavan and Cubbon Park to watch the films stated Dr Kamal Haasan.

 

It was Ramesh Aravind well prepared and well worded speech brought some cheer. Bangalore is not only known for IT and BT but also for `Seeti` Ramesh Aravind got applaud. Ms.RadhikaPandit was supposed to bring the lamp for inauguration but the real meaning was not understood. Food and civil supplies minister Dinesh Gundu Rao picked one lying on the ground near `decorated lamp` for inauguration. The dignitaries on the dais included Ms.PouranDerakhshandeh and Mr. Heinz Georg Badewitz.

Kichcha Sudeep another star attraction on the dais stated that he is honored to sit with such luminaries. Dr Kamalsir was standing to watch films in queue but I was standing in queues to watch his films said Kichcha. He thanked the family of cinema industry sitting opposite to the stage. He promised the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah to work for the quality films in his career.

 

There was some delay in start of Naada Geethe as the singers were not prepared but entire auditorium attendance was standing for a few minutes.

 

Suman a gigantic actor was invited on stage for a bouquet and he touched the feet of Dr Kamal Haasan. The anchoring of Bhavana was not up to the mark.

 

Rajakumar and party Nadha Swaram, Jugalbandi vocal from Poornima Kulkarni, Sathyanarayana Raju dance, Pashwanath Upadhyaya Krishnashtakam were rich in quality.
